About Cate

Cate supports creative individuals who are seeking increasingly higher levels of inspiration, fulfillment, and joy. She guides them to practice self-care in a unique way, recognizing that the outer “doing” of life is often a direct reflection of our inner “being”; that our behaviors reflect our thoughts, emotions and beliefs.  She knows that when we love and honor ourselves at the deepest level, we easily express our authentic nature, resulting in better relationships and health.

As Marlene Kelly, (Former) Asst. Director of Online Learning at Omega Institute, says:  “Cate’s clear insight, compassion and grounded approach created a safe environment for me to face my fears, love and accept myself for all that I am and move in the direction of my dreams.”

CateToshiba Digital Camera has been a practitioner of alternative healing modalities since the early 1980s. As a NY State Licensed Massage Therapist and Reiki Master Teacher, she has worked closely with many individuals on their personal healing journeys. As a divorced, single mom, she maintained a private body work practice and was the primary caregiver to both of her parents during their terminal illness(es).

Through observation and her own healing process, Cate noticed that healing cannot occur if only the physical is addressed. She discovered that healing is an emotional and spiritual process as well. In 2004, this led her to train as an integrative coach with Debbie Ford, best-selling author, teacher and founder of The Ford Institute of Integrative Coaching, JFK University. She has continued her education since that time; in 2015, she trained and certified as a Daring Way™ Facilitator – Life Coach. As of 2026, this designation is renamed Daring Way Trained Facilitator. Her training is based on the research of Brené Brown, Ph.D., LMSW, best-selling author, speaker, and  professor at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. Dr. Brown has spent her career researching people’s lived experience, grounded theory research, exploring vulnerability, courage, worthiness, shame and more.

Living with chronic hepatitis C for decades, Cate was blessed to heal her relationship with herself and discover her own path to wellness as a cure was developed. Thanks to self-care, good genetics, luck, and Harvoni, she is now free of the virus. Though Cate shares some of her healing process on her blog pages, she believes each individual discovers their own path to wellness. It is her passion to support that journey.

With the emotional education and structure of the coaching relationship Cate provides, her clients and workshop participants gain the tools they need to journey back to their birthright of worthiness, unconditional love and self-acceptance. Her clients often discover a sense of inner peace that they have not known as adults. She continues to be a humble witness of healing and transformation as her clients create lives they never could have imagined.

In addition to individual coaching by phone, Cate facilitates women’s retreats, workshops and classes in person in the Saratoga/Adirondack, NY region. With the Covid-19 pandemic, she has added Zoom workshops. She encourages individuals interested in individual life coaching to begin by participating in an eight-week Zoom series or in-person retreat to broaden their understanding of how their thoughts, beliefs, and emotions influence their behavior. Alternatively, Cate offers a 20 minute complimentary consultation to see if coaching and her approach to personal transformation is a good match for you. A longer session is available at a preferred rate deducted from your coaching package.

Cate is married to her “rock”, best friend and fellow traveler for life’s adventures, Win McIntyre.  They live in a rural setting of meadows and forest 20 minutes from the vibrant city of Saratoga Springs, NY.  She enjoys a close relationship with her adult son, his wife, and grand-critters, who live about an hour away. Three unrelated spoiled rescue cats of various ages complete the family circle.

Cate and her husband enjoyed the outdoors, hiked and paddled in the nearby Adirondack Mountains until her husband’s chronic illness limited his cognitive ability and mobility. Cate finds that she is again a caregiver and takes solace in knowing she is not alone, engaging in an active support network.

Cate walks outdoors most days, taking in the beauty of the changing seasons. In the winter, she enjoys a snowshoe trail right out her back door. She spends time in her garden and loves taking pictures of flowers and any critter that will hold still.  She enjoys conscious movement classes, strength training, private Pilates, and (indoor) cycling, acknowledging the overall benefits of the fun, centeredness, and core strength each provides. Since the pandemic, she has practiced mindfulness meditation daily. Her favorite meditation is Metta or loving-kindness meditation.

Though Cate has a personal presence on social media, rarely used, you will not find a professional page.

Cate is currently serving as President of the Board of Trustees at her local library. She also holds a seat on the board of directors of her library foundation, which she helped found in 2023. A a Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardener, she has stepped back from the delight of answering gardening questions at the Saratoga Springs summer farmer’s market.

Every joy, every challenge, every hardship, every thing has its season!

Send Cate an email to schedule a complimentary 20 minute call and/or an introductory coaching session at a preferred rate, deducted from your coaching package should you decide to take the leap!

    • Thank you for your kind acknowledgment, Brooke. It was a true blessing from nature to have this beauty show up, though I did worry fiercely about its safe travel south. And on the cusp of the pandemic. Who knew? i am in awe of the natural world. Observing brings me back to my heart center. Needed now more than ever.
